Inauguration of Science Block

The Science block of the college was inaugurated on the 5th August, 2022 by Shri. Conrad K Sangma, Honourable Chief Minister of Meghalaya.

Silver Jubilee

The college was established in the year 1997 by the erstwhile Khasi Jaintia Presbyterian Synod. The year long celebration of the silver jubilee ended with the commemoration culminating on 5th August, 2022. The programme was honored by the presence of the Honourable Chief Minister of Meghalaya, Shri. Conrad K Sangma as the Chief Guest. The Guest of Honours were- Shri. Wailadmiki Shylla, MLA,2-Jowai Assembly Constituency, Shri. Sniawbhalang Dhar, Minister, Urban Affairs, Govt. of Meghalaya and Shri. Lahkmen Rymbui, Education Minister, Govt. of Meghalaya. There were other dignitaries also present at the programme from the KJP Synod Mihngi, members of Governing Body and various invitees.

Homage to all Bravehearts whome we lost on 8th December 2021

The lighting of candles was done at the college campus at 5:00 P.M on 10th December 2021.

As the nation mourned the loss of the bravehearts,  NCC cadets of the college joined several NCC units in the country to pay homage to Gen. Bipin Rawat, his wife, several other officers and good men who lost their lives on the 8th December, 2021.

Thomas Jones Day

The College is blessed to be named after Rev. Thomas Jones, a pioneer in the making of Khasi alphabets. Thomas Jones Day is celebrated every year on 22nd June. Though the day has been declared as a state holiday, the college organize programme every year to commemorate this day. Performance on short skit, songs, and speeches by dignitaries are part of the programme.

Sports

Sports is part of the curriculum which instill courage and physical well being. The college organize various sports, indoor as well as outdoor for students of the college. The College also has a basketball court, volleyball court and space for Futsal. Students actively involve in these sports during free period. The college also participate in Inter-College sports and this in turn helps in building sportsmanship among the students. It also helps students in looking forward to building a career in different sports.

Felicitation of meritorious students

The College felicitates meritorious students during the Graduation ceremony/ Valedictory function. Students who perform well in their examination and bring laurels to the college are felicitated with various awards organised by the college as well as individual sponsors.

Advance Christmas

With the onset of festive season and the academic session coming to an end, the college comes to a close with the Advance Christmas celebration. A short programme with the special invitees, students and faculty is organised to commemorate the birth of our Saviour and also bid farewell to another year. Everyone jovially participate in singing and a bonfire followed by cake cutting and refreshments.

To create an environment of enthusiasm the college organize College Week every year. Students and teachers actively participate in sports, academic activities and cultural programmes. It is the time of the year that every student and faculty members anxiously look forward to.
